TPA SERVICE 25
This match requires the competitor to engage paper targets at 25, 10 and 7 yards, in both slow and rapid fire modes. The event involves a range of shooting positions including prone, sitting, kneeling, firing from behind a barricade, freestanding, swapping hands and shooting unsighted. The Service 25m match does not require drawing from a holster but from the 45 degree ready position. Each competitor utilises a bank of five targets mounted side by side.
PISTOL: Any centre fire revolver or semi-automatic pistol of calibre 7.62mm to 9.65mm (.30″ to .380″)
PISTOL SPECIFICS:
• Overall weight less than 1300g
• Minimum trigger pull 1360g.
• Maximum sight radius 150mm
• Barrel length less than 130mm
RESTRICTIONS: Open sights only, no scopes or red dot sights are allowed. All shots are to be loaded from the pocket, speed loaders are not permitted.
AMMUNITION: Centrefire ammunition of calibre 7.62mm to 9.65mm (.30″ to .38″) may be used with a minimum Power Factor of 60,000.
(Power Factor = Bullet weight (in grains) multiplied by the muzzle velocity (in feet per second.)
TARGET: ISSF Rapid Fire targets x 5 per shooter.
COURSE OF FIRE: The 65-shot competition is divided into various stages shot at different distances:
- Stage 1: 25 shots at 25yards
- Stage 2: 15 shots @ 25 yards
- Stage 3: 15 shots @ 10 yards
- Stage 4: 10 shots @ 7 yards
