ISSF 25m CENTREFIRE PISTOL
This event is one of the ISSF shooting events and at International level is for men only.
Other than the calibre used, the Centrefire match is exactly the same as the 25m Women’s Pistol event. However, in Australia the event is also shot by women at many State competitions.
The 25m Centrefire Pistol combines 2-stages, a precision stage and a rapid-fire stage, each of 30 shots.
PISTOL: Any revolver or self-loading pistol except a single shot pistol.
AMMUNTION:
• Centrefire ammunition from 7.62mm to 9.65mm (0.30″ – 0.38″).
• Lead or soft projectiles only. No high power or magnum ammunition allowed.
PISTOL SPECIFICS:
• Overall weight less than 1400g
• Minimum trigger pull 1000g.
• Maximum sight radius 220mm
• Barrel length less than 153mm
• Must fit into box of 300mm x 150mm x 50mm
COURSE OF FIRE:
Precision Stage
• 30 shots, in six series of 5 shots, each series is 5 minutes
• Target: ISSF 25/50m Precision target
After all competitors have completed the Precision Stage, they then move on to the Rapid Fire Stage.
Rapid Fire Stage
• 30 shots, in six series of 5 shots (5 exposures of the target for 3 seconds)
• Target: ISSF 25m Rapid fire target
COMPETITION:
The top 8 contestants having the highest scores progress on to the final which consists of two stages. After the first stage of five rapid fire series of 5 shots each, the top four scoring finalists then compete for medal contention.
